"Fair enough. The college students I knew did, but they were of a particular sort." He chuckled. He'd never made it to college - he'd left school at sixteen. "All right, so, this is the shop, toys on the left, clothes on the right. That pair of red shoes opens a door to a dance club. As a member of the staff you're free to go down there on your breaks for drinks or a snack, though we also have a break room."
He looked around, trying to figure out what else he needed to show him in the front. "The elves are over there - don't bug them, and never thank them for anything. Magical reasons, not... ingratitude." He still threw a mildly frosty look in the direction of the pair of handsome elves behind their counter, which was matched by one of the pair of them.
To be fair, neither had Lucas. The local college campus made for a decent stream of hookups, though! "Red slippers...Wouldn't that be more Glinda's thing?" He smiles - as a member of the staff - this was the easiest interview ever.
"Uh," A quick glance between Daniel and said elves confirms he should at least take the man at his word. "No talking, got it." He could keep track of that much.
"So I know you said you had pamphlets for the clothing stuff, but is the other side of the shop the same idea or is it more hands-on?" With a cheeky grin, Lucas turns away from the elves to take in the sight of the whole shop again.
"Glinda doesn't actually know about it at all, and apparently she's not supposed to. There's a matching entrance in her shop, though." He doesn't take much care with the secret, but somehow the witch hasn't figured it out yet. He truly doesn't care if she does.
Daniel laughs. "It's as hands-on as you want it to be, but yes, that's what the pamphlets are for. And yes, you will have to read them." He went behind the counter to grab a few of them to start with - 'Risk Aware Consensual Kink for Beginners', 'Slap, Slap, Kiss, Kiss: An Introduction to Impact Play', and 'Hello, Sailor: Bondage Basics'. "These should do to start."
"Huh, why's that?" He can't help but ask. Especially if it's in the same vein as the no talking rule to the elves.
"Hah, well, it sounds like there's a pop quiz later?" Lucas leans his elbows on the counter, eyeing the pamphlet titles with brows raised. "Okay, whoever put together these titles is a genius!"
He loves them, Max would probably love them too. His grin is giddy just thinking about it. "I can keep these, right?"
"I really have no idea? It was part of the letter I received when the fairies decided to give me the place. I haven't spent that much effort trying to prevent it, if I'm being honest." He hasn't actively told Glinda about the Slipper and he mostly uses his own shop entrance these days, but he couldn't really care less about it.
"Thank you, I put some thought into them." The pamphlets are clearly hand-printed with care, with simple illustrations peppered through them. "And yes, I may quiz you. Go ahead and keep them, I've got more copies, and a few others you can read when you're done with those."
"Chalk it up to a fae thing, I guess. I'll keep that in mind, too." There has to be a practical joke in there somewhere, if they're anything like the little buggers from back home.
Now Lucas is really smiling. So Bossman here put these together? At least he has a sense of humor along with what looks like good information. He's feeling more at ease about this job already.
"Awesome, will do. I guess the only thing left is when can I start?"
