Daniel watches him poke around, wondering if he should put a leash on him. That's a thought for another time, though, as enjoyable and adorable as it would be to have Corbin collared for him. He'll remain where he is, he's explored the place pretty thoroughly already. "I'm going to decorate and open it as a club. Music, live performances, a lower-key place to relax and have a drink that isn't run by the fae."
He's pretty sure there's another speakeasy in town and he definitely knows about Midnight, but more watering holes never hurt anyone. He's planning a campy vibe, he doesn't want to be classy here. That's all well and good, but sometimes you need some cheesy fun.
No one is likely to debate that Corbin on a leash might be aesthetically pleasing, as well as provide a means to keep him from poking his nose into everything, but right now it would curtail his ability to help Daniel do whatever it was he needed.
"It'll look great once we're done fixing it up. So you're just gonna hire folks like us to run it?" Not that he protested, but it felt an odd choice when nearly every other business had at least one or two fae helping to run it, if not owning it outright.
"That was the general idea." He shrugs. "I don't really trust anyone who has anything to do with the running of this place. They can probably use magic to spy, but there's no reason to make it easier on them."
He's a paranoid old bastard and he knows it, but ten years in the resistance against aliens who want to control your every move makes it feel much more justified.
Corbin shrugs, it hadn't really occurred to him to be paranoid, yeah he knew that the Fae were watching them, that was the point of why they were there. So they couldn't really do anything about it. But hey, it was Daniel's place, so Daniel's rules, and if he didn't want to have any Fae help run the place then that was his business.
"Alright. What d'you need me to do?" There was probably things that need to be moved around, or maybe some painting. But he was fine doing whatever Daniel wanted him to do. That's why he was here after all.
