Vane's looking like he doesn't really belong there. Mostly he had been wondering what this place was about and had wandered in wearing his usual clothing. A shirt and a pair of leather pants. And a pair of pretty damn good looking boots. His eyes go wide when he enters and he tries to adjust to the sound and the amount of people and how different it is to what he knows.
Then he sees the bar and grins, a little booze makes everything easier. Once he nears it he sees a familiar face, even if it is in strange clothing. "A rum and whatever my friend here wants." Vane grins as he moves up beside Daniel and speaks to the bartender. "I owe you for the money after all."
Daniel turns to take a look at whoever this is - he's not sure he'd describe most people here as a friend. But all right, if he's getting a drink - ah, it's the pirate. "Ta, darling. I'll have a Jack and coke."
He leans against the bar, looking Vane up and down - he doesn't look particularly comfortable, though with the leather pants he doesn't look out of place. "What's a boy like you doing in a place like this?"
Vane takes the rum when it arrives and drinks heavily from the glass. Then he turns to Daniel, raising an eyebrow slightly at being called boy. He hasn't been called that in many years.
"Trying to figure out what kind of place this is. It's... different." Very different than what he is used to, and that includes what Daniel is dressed in and he takes a moment to look him over. But he doesn't say anything. "You?"
Daniel poses a little as Vane looks him over - he's in his best tonight, knee-high latex boots with buckles, fishnet stockings on a garter belt, a tiny leather skirt and a latex corset over a filmy gauze shirt. Plus the choker necklace of course. "You've never been to a nightclub before?"
He takes a drink and shrugs. "I like the atmosphere. Reminds me of home."
Vane lets his gaze linger. It is different and quite honestly it suits the man next to him. He looks like he feels at home in the clothes and with everything going on around them.
"No. We don't have them in Nassau." He reaches out to touch the fabric of the corset, strange and new as well. "You have them a lot then?"
Daniel reaches down and takes Vane's hand off of him, arching one eyebrow "Don't touch, darling, I haven't invited you." He grins, a little wickedly. "Yet."
He doesn't relinquish the hand immediately. "I own one of these at home - or at least, I did. Nothing so fancy, I had less of a budget, but I did all right. Coming here is a taste of home after the rest of this fairy tale nonsense."
Vane's about to say something but the yet has him raising an eyebrow. But he doesn't pull the hand back from Daniel's grip either. "I feel the same on Beau's ship. Even if it is just on a lake." He sighs slightly. Yeah he misses being on the ocean.
"So the music and the lights and everything. That is how it is supposed to be?"
"Right, you're used to the high seas and all that." All of these people from different worlds - magic and pirates and no bloody nightmare aliens. Well. Some of them probably have those.
He laughs. "Yeah. Too loud to hear yourself think and the lighting's weird enough that anyone you see could be shaggable. It's ripe for bad choices that you can pretend don't have consequences."
...not that that really worked for Daniel, but then, fucking Hawke here wasn't exactly a bad choice.
Vane nods at the first part. He is and misses it. Then when Daniel laughs and explains the next bit he tilts his head for a second. Like it finally clicks for him. Bad choices sound exactly like what he wants right now. What he needs. So he licks his lips and looks out on the dancefloor, a certain hunger in his eyes. "That does sound perfect."
It's hard to miss that look in his eyes, at least for Daniel. He's very good at figuring out what people want.
"Well, come on." He knocks the rest of the drink back, tugs Vane's hand - no, he hasn't let that go yet - and pulls him out towards the mix of bodies gyrating to the beat out on the dancefloor.
Vane finishes his drink and then follows him out on the floor. He looks around with the look of someone who has not been there before but he gets the point pretty quickly and seems to move with the music, even if you cant really call what he is doing dancing
It's close enough for the club. Daniel joins in, moving with agility despite the height of his heels. He actually knows what he's doing when he dances, graceful and smooth. He'll let go of Vane's hand and let him decide if they're dancing together or just side by side - there are a lot of attractive people out on the floor.
Vane closes his eyes and lets the music wash over him, letting the feeling of other people sweaty and moving together all around him wash over him and without thinking about it he presses closer to Daniel. There is something extremely sensual about the whole thing, the way they move. When he opens his eyes again he grins and meets Daniel's eyes, letting him see that hint of hunger in his gaze.
